Festool HEPA-HF-CT 26/36/48 Main Filter

At a Glance: Genuine Festool HEPA replacement filter for compatible non-AUTOCLEAN CT 26, CT 36 and CT 48 mobile dust extractors.

The Festool HEPA-HF-CT 26/36/48 is a high-efficiency replacement main filter developed to maintain exceptional fine-dust filtration in compatible Festool mobile dust extractors. Installed downstream of the filter bag, it captures the fine residual particles that could otherwise pass back into the working environment. When correctly installed in a compatible, properly sealed HEPA extractor system, the filter contributes to capturing at least 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns. Its precisely matched shape and sealing surfaces provide dependable fitment in compatible CT 26, CT 36 and CT 48 extractors, while the pleated construction offers a large filtration area without occupying unnecessary container space. This genuine replacement filter is an essential maintenance component for workshops and job sites where clean exhaust air and effective control of fine sanding, routing, sawing and drilling dust are priorities.

High-efficiency filtration for cleaner workshop air

A dust extractor can only perform as effectively as its filtration system allows. Replacing a damaged, contaminated or heavily loaded main filter restores the extractor&s final filtration barrier, helping to maintain suction performance while preventing fine residual dust from being returned to the room.

Extra Information

  • The HEPA performance rating applies to the complete compatible extractor configuration, including the filter, filter bag, seals and extractor housing.
  • Installing this filter does not automatically change an extractor&s certified dust class or make it approved for asbestos, lead, silica or other regulated hazardous materials.
  • Always use the extractor, filter bag and personal protective equipment required by the material&s safety information and applicable regulations.
  • This filter is not suitable for extractors using the AUTOCLEAN function. Confirm whether the extractor model includes AC in its designation.
  • Reduced suction can also be caused by a full filter bag, blocked hose, obstructed tool port or damaged seal. Check the complete extraction system before replacing components.
  • Do not substitute this dry HEPA filter for the correct wet filter during liquid collection.
  • Replace the filter if the media is torn, punctured, permanently clogged, wet, deformed or no longer seals correctly.
  • The filter should be handled as contaminated waste after use and disposed of according to the type of dust collected.

Pro Tips

  • Use genuine Festool SELFCLEAN filter bags to capture most dust before it reaches the main filter.
  • Change the filter bag before it becomes excessively full, as an overfilled bag can restrict airflow and increase loading on the main filter.
  • Inspect the filter whenever persistent suction loss remains after checking the hose, inlet and filter bag.
  • Use a compatible Festool pre-separator for approved high-volume dust applications to reduce the load reaching the extractor.
  • Never clean HEPA filter media with high-pressure compressed air, as this can damage the media and release concentrated dust into the air.
  • Do not wash the filter. Moisture can damage the filtration media and prevent it from operating correctly.
  • Write the installation date on the filter packaging or maintenance record to simplify inspection and replacement planning.
  • Keep a replacement filter available when the extractor is essential to workshop or site productivity.

How to Replace the Filter

  • Switch off the dust extractor, disconnect it from the power supply and remove any connected tool or hose if required.
  • Wear appropriate respiratory protection and gloves for the type of dust previously collected.
  • Open the extractor according to the operating instructions and carefully remove the motor or upper housing section.
  • Locate the main-filter compartment and release the existing filter using the extractor&s tool-free retaining mechanism.
  • Remove the contaminated filter slowly to avoid releasing trapped dust into the air.
  • Place the used filter directly into a suitable sealable disposal bag.
  • Inspect and carefully clean the filter compartment and sealing surfaces without allowing dust to enter the turbine.
  • Check the new filter for transport damage and position it in the correct orientation.
  • Press the filter securely into place and engage the retaining mechanism completely.
  • Inspect the filter bag and replace it if full, damaged or unsuitable for the intended application.
  • Reassemble the extractor and ensure that all housing latches and seals are correctly engaged.
  • Reconnect the extractor and perform a short functional check to confirm normal airflow and secure sealing.
